Caps Go Green

(Caps Outsider)

Pregame warmups looked a little different prior to the Caps vs. Hurricanes game Tuesday night at Verizon Center.  The boys, usually in red, were all decked out in bright green jerseys to be signed and auctioned off during the game. The auction also featured player-signed pucks with green Caps logos.

The auction opened at noon on Monday, March 14 on Handbid and concluded at the end of the second intermission Tuesday.  The jerseys were on display during the game at the Monumental Sports and Entertainment Foundation table.  Sponsored by MSE Foundation, all proceeds from the auction will benefit Anacostia Waterfront Trust with $5,000 being earmarked to Anacostia Watershed Society.

The Anacostia Waterfront Trust’s mission is to work with public and private stakeholders to support the creation of a world-class waterfront along the Anacostia River.  With the help of generous Caps fans, this is yet another fine example of how the MSE Foundation reaches out to the community and works to make the Washington D.C. area a better place to live, work and play.
