On Sunday, the Caps take on the Chicago Blackhawks at 12:30 on NBC. Many people see this as a potential Stanley Cup Final preview, especially with the moves Chicago has made in the last few days. Those moves include trading for Andrew Ladd, Christian Ehrhoff, Tomas Fleischmann, and Dale Weise. Chicago is “going all in” for the Cup this year. These moves come after a 6-1 loss in the Stadium Series to Minnesota and a 3-1 loss against Nashville on Thursday.

However, Barry Trotz even said that they are not going to scout them because of these moves. Chicago is a very talented team, but these moves may mess with the team chemistry. The battle on Sunday will give both teams the last insight into what maybe a Stanley Cup Final preview and to make trades before Monday`s trade deadline at 3:00pm.

Some noteworthy things to for Sunday is how the Caps will handle the loss of John Carlson, who is out 3-4 weeks and Brooks Laich, who was put on waivers, but may still be be in the lineup Sunday. In addition, Jay Beagle may be back in the lineup after being out since December 30 and having surgery on January 2.
