Dmitry Orlov Scores Three Games in a Row

(Caps Outsider)

After sitting out last season due to a wrist injury, Caps defender Dmitry Orlov had some catching up to do on the stat sheet. Against Colorado on Saturday, he scored his ‘magic,’ goal, then he scored the only one against Edmonton on Monday. On Wednesday, he scored yet again against the Jets.

“It’s good we win all three games,” Orlov said, more happy with the outcome than his personal streak.

His third goal of the season matches a career high for the 24-year-old Russian, which he accomplished in only 21 games this season compared to 60 in 2011-12 and 54 in 2013-14. He wouldn’t, however, admit to having any particular number in mind for total goals for the season.

“I try not to think about it. When I have a chance to shoot I will shoot. Of course everybody wants to score but it doesn’t matter. Our team has a good system, everybody can join the rush. It doesn’t matter who scores. We’re winning, that’s good.”

The goal also gave him a career-high four-game point streak. Here are all three goals:
