Game 7 Hero Devin, and Cameron, Return to Stingrays

In a week filled with player signings and trades, Stingrays Head Coach Spencer Carbery announced today they have re-signed forwards Joe Devin and Brett Cameron.

Devin, 27, played a major role in the Stingrays Kelly Cup Finals run last season, notching two Game 7 winners as part of his 13 goal playoffs. His most memorable goal in Triple Overtime of Game 7 against Toledo won the Stingrays both the series and the Eastern Conference title. In 46 regular season games, Devin scored 28 points (17 goals, 11 assists) and added 34 PIM. “Although we would like to change the result of the last game, it doesn’t take away from what we accomplished” Devin said of last season.

Brett Cameron, 24, came to the Stingrays after finishing his Senior season with the University of Alaska-Anchorage with 7 goals and ten assists over 33 games. Cameron only played three games as a Stingray, but he called his decision to come back “easy.” “I feel it’s the best organization in the league” he elaborated. Cameron looks to fill the role of a “big, strong, power forward, and working hard in both ends of the ice” for the Stingrays this season.

With these signings, the Stingrays now carry six forwards, two goalies, and five defensemen. More player signings are expected in the coming weeks.
