Caps Dog Calendar Keeps Getting the Jewish Holiday Dates Wrong

The Caps Dog Calendar went on sale Tuesday. (Caps Outsider)

We’ve already reported that the 2014 Caps Dog Calendar got the wrong date for Rosh Hashannah, and we just learned that it also has the wrong starting date for Hanukkah this year.

Mistakes. They happen – I understand that. Surely they’ll correct that for the brand new 2015 calendar, right?

Nope.

The 2015 Capitals Canine Calendar once again have the wrong dates for several Jewish Holidays. It says, “Rosh Hashanah Begins at Sundown” on Sept. 14, 2015, when Erev Rosh Hashana is in fact on Sept. 13. Same thing with Yom Kippur and Hanukkah. They did, however, get Passover right.

UPDATE: Homeward Trails saw this and said they will look into it.

Second thing to note: Fans should buy this at Verizon Center for $20, or have someone pick it up for them. Shipping on the Caps website is an extra $10, or $20 internationally, which is steep considering USPS has flatrate shipping with free envelopes for several dollars less than that.

Okay, now let’s look at puppies.

Homeward Trails Animal Rescue is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides pet adoption in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Homeward Trails seeks to find permanent adoptive homes in the Mid-Atlantic Region for dogs and cats from high-kill shelters or whose owners can no longer care for them. They seek to reduce the rate of euthanasia of adoptable animals through the rescue and placement of homeless animals; to support proactive spay/neuter practices; to promote positive and ongoing behavioral training; and to educate the public about how to care for their animals in a humane way. Homeward Trails not only facilitates adoptions from local shelters, but also supports a large network of foster care providers who take homeless dogs and cats into their homes, care for them, rehabilitate them when needed, and prepare them for their permanent adoptive homes.
