Warriors Sled Hockey Shoot-Out at Verizon Center

(Photos by Caps Outsider)

Tuesday was still Veteran’s Day at Verizon Center as a couple of Warrior sled hockey players and goaltender put on a show during the second intermission. For those of you who haven’t seen sled hockey players in action, it’s quite remarkable as they stick-handle the puck, shoot, and keep themselves moving with specialized sticks in each hand. It’s quite remarkable.

Mike Cain, Ben Harrow and Pat Brown participated in the event for the Warriors. Cain was a sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in Iraq in 2003 before being injured. More than 10 years after his injury, Cain had his second leg removed, only about six weeks ago. Harrow, a West Point grad, is a Captain in the 7th Special Force Group and served in Afghanistan, where he was injured. Brown is a Corporal in the Combat Engineers with the Marines, and has been deployed to Iraq, and was injured in Afghanistan.

Just goes to show, hockey is for everyone.
