Defenseman Tomáš Kundrátek earned his first assist in the NHL Tuesday, getting the puck to a wide-open Marcus Johansson on a power play to cut the Leafs’ lead to 2-1 at the time. It came in his 9th game of the season and 14th overall NHL game. It was also Johansson’s first goal of the season.

“I saw him there and waited for him [Johansson] to come out to the post and I passed it to him,” Kundrátek said after the game of the power play goal. “Definitely first point is nice to have, but like I said, I wish we would have won the game. It would’ve felt better.”

Unfortunately, no one saved the puck for the 23-year-old. Congratulations to Kundrátek, and here’s hoping a goal comes soon.
