Capitals Zamboni Ice Resurfacer Piggy Bank
As a fan of Capitals collectibles, I was delighted that the Capitals, along with Eye Doctors of Washington, are giving away Capitals Zamboni ice resurfacer piggy banks by signing up for a chance to win free Lasik.
Considering that the bobbleheads and other schwag take a bit of money or effort to obtain, this isn’t a bad piece for your Capitals shrine. But it’s not all good news: The wheels wobble, which will make for a lousy ice sheet on your mini ice rink (or, true to the VC ice, haha). And the paint chips, so careful when shoving coins into it (though I highly suggest you don’t).
But who cares? It’s still a good-looking freebee. Be sure to look for the booth at the Verizon Center for information on Lasik and to get yourself a Capitals Zamboni ice resurfacer piggy bank.
Editor’s note: A sternly worded e-mail came to explain that this is not a Zamboni, but an ice resurfacing machine. The Zamboni folks are worried that his will hurt their trademark, though it’s pretty clear that the term is a genericized trademark, like Aspirin, Yo-yo or Zipper. Spending their time chasing after bloggers who misuse the term can’t possibly be the best use of time. However, for the sake of too much information, I’m told this Capitals piggy bank is modeled after an Olympia ice resurfacer.
