Caps Accept President’s Cup

The Washington Capitals were presented with the President’s Cup in a pre-game ceremony Friday. Now they have something to hold their paper down during wind storms in the office.

As we all know, the President’s Cup means zilch as the playoffs begin, other than home ice advantage, which has its perks but hardly translates into the much-coveted championship. Remember San Jose last season? The Sharks won that thing, only to be eliminated in the first round.

Let’s face it – if the Capitals don’t with the STANLEY CUP this season, there is little consolation in having their name synonymous with 2009-2010 Regular Season Champions.
