Caps Lose to Hurricanes in OT, But No One Cares Because It Is Preseason

Alex Ovechkin scored twice in the game. (Caps Outsider)

Here are the stories after the Caps’ 5-4 OT loss to the Hurricanes on Friday:

  • The play of Jonas Siegenthaler, who is earning himself a roster spot after defenseman Michal Kempny was injured.
  • Devante Smith-Pelly played in his first pre-season game. Coach Todd Reirden said he played well.
  • Jayson Megna scored a nice goal. After we tweeted at him for still having his Canucks photo and bio on his Twitter account, someone (maybe him) liked our tweet and promptly changed the photo and bio after the game.
  • We discovered the pour-your-own-beer stations at Capital One Arena, which more people care about than the result of this game.

Enjoy the pre-game warmup pictures.
