Alex Ovechkin Wins 10th Yvon Labre Award

(Caps Outsider)

Almost every season since 1984, the Caps Fan Club tallies the ballots of fans who vote on their favorite player. The winner receives the Yvon Labre award, named after the former Caps captain. The winner gets his name engraved on the trophy and receives a small trophy of his own, which is presented by the Caps Fan Club.

For the first time since 2013-14, Alex Ovechkin received the most votes. It’s also his 10th time winning it, as he won the first nine times of his career, and even sharing it with Nicklas Backstrom in 2013-14.

Backstrom, Braden Holtby, and T.J. Oshie won the award the last three years.
