Oshie vs. Bobrovsky. Again. Guess What Happens

(Caps Outsider)

T.J. Oshie and Sergei Bobrovsky faced off against each other in yet another shootout Thursday and once again, Oshie got the better of him, giving the Caps a 2-1 victory against Columbus.

While it was a ‘HUGE’ two points, according to head coach Barry Trotz, it was but a community theater compared to the stage the two had stood on once before.

“We faced each other in the Olympics there,” Oshie said after the game. “I went [five hole] three times. I thought I saw something, and went for it, and luckily, it found the back of the net. I feel pretty fortunate, and luckily that’s all we needed to shut the door on the other end.”

Back in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Oshie faced Bobrovsky in the shootout, going 4-for-6 (Olympic rules allowed the same player to keep shooting), leading Team USA to what felt like an epic victory. Oshie was suddenly an American hero.

So did that give him a leg up on Bobrovsky on Thursday? Not necessarily. “It’s different every time.”

Except Oshie seems to beat him every time, and we’re just fine with that.

Oh, also, Charlie knew what’s up.
