The Capitals demolished the Penguins 7-1 this evening, thanks to tremendous efforts from Backstrom and Oshie. There are plenty of highlights from this game, but this one takes the cake. If you weren’t at the game, you may have missed it. Slapshot, the Capitals Mascot, came into the crowd to present a birthday cake to a young fan during the 3rd period, but was being heckled by a Penguins fan. You can guess what happened next (but don’t need to because of that title and photo above). Happy Birthday, Timmy!

Clearly this was staged for the big screen, but that doesn’t stop us from hoping the video goes viral for the next week. We hope to see it on SportsCenter and our Facebook feeds as often as that dancing mom at the Warriors game.
