The Caps App Is No More!

The Washington Capitals mobile app is no more. It’s been replaced with the NHL app, as the league has combined all the teams into one place. This news comes after all NHL teams updated their websites to look like NHL.com.

(Editor’s note: WE HATE THIS)

The description now reads, “Welcome Washington Capitals fans! This is your new single-touch access to the NHL app – the NEW official app of the Washington Capitals and the 2016-2017 NHL season with the latest Washington Capitals news, scores, stats, exclusive highlights, photos and much more.”

The good news is, you can customize the NHL app to make the Caps your favorite team. For that, download the NHL app, hit the “more” tab, hit “edit,” scroll down to the Caps and hit the plus, and choose it as a favorite. By doing this, the app will now automatically open to what is now the “home” for the Caps app and the Caps logo will be in the bottom left. Clicking this will always take you back to this “home” screen.

One of the great things about the Caps app was Capitals Radio 24/7. While it still exists, it is important to note the “tab” is no longer in the upper right hand corner. It is now towards the bottom of the first page. The headphones in the upper right corner is for listening to other NHL games. A bonus is, unlike in other sports, you can always listen to a game for free. You even get to choose between the home and away radio broadcast.
