Poll: Should the Caps Bring Back Alex Semin?

Those were the days. (M. Richter)

PollAlexander Semin was bought out by the Carolina Hurricanes. He then cleared waivers and became a UFA (Unrestricted Free Agent). This means the Caps would not have to give anything to the Canes if we were to sign him. Some people would like to see him return. Other people, such as my cousin said, “Hell no!” when they heard the news.

He played 7 years with the Caps. For 6 of those 7, he played alongside fellow Russian star Alex Ovechkin. Before he was paired with his countrymen, Semin had just 12:37 ATOI. His first year his numbers jumped up to 18:24. Semin scored 28 more goals and had 51 more points.

Not everything is so good though. That same season, 2006-07, he had 90 PIMs a 250% increase from is previous year. The rest of his time in DC, he never dropped below 54 PIMs and never hit 85 points.

Last season with the Canes he had 6G and was a -10 in 57GP while still averaging just under 16 minutes a game. The question I propose to you is, if you were GMBM would you sign him?

Should the Caps resign Semin, again?
