Tale of the Tape: Many Caps vs. Many Blue Jackets

Tom Wilson: 6’4″, 210 lbs. 20 Career NHL Regular Season Fights

Dalton Prout: 6’3″, 222 lbs. 9 Career NHL Regular Season Fights

December 18th, 2014. 12:20 Into The Second Period. Caps Tied 2-2.

Tom Wilson was being bullied in the corner. Wilson does not like that, so he decided to drop the gloves with Dalton Prout.

Prout is an excellent fighter. Wilson quickly tried to sneak in a few good ones, but he was just overmatched. But Prout cracked Wilson in the face right away, and there was simply nothing Wilson could do, except accept his onslaught of punches to the noggin.

And….The Winner Is….In A Unanimous Decision…..DALTON PROUT.

Michael Latta: 6’0″, 209 lbs. 5 Career NHL Regular Season Fights

Jared Boll: 6’3″, 214 lbs. 139 Career NHL Regular Season Fights

December 18th, 2014. About Two Seconds After Tom Wilsons Fight. Caps Still Tied 2-2.

Now, Michael Latta is the protector of all the Papa’s on the team. After Wilson went down with a beating, Latta was the lone Papa protector. Because he would never hear the end of it from his roommate, Latta had to fight. So, he politely asked Jared Boll to fight, which took a lot of courage to do.

The two stared into each others souls for quite some time. After that, Boll got bored with staring and lunged right at Latta. Fortunately for Latta, Boll’s early swings didn’t appear to connect. The two hold on to each other, waiting for the other to make a move. Latta goes for a few quick left jabs, while Boll waits for an opportunity. Boll found an opportunity and threw a right, again, it didn’t appear to connect very well. He swung again, but Latta was able to duck under it. As Boll goes for an uppercut, Latta quickly swings and appears to land a great punch right on Bolls face. This appeared to anger Boll, and the two began to manically swing at one another, and the linesmen jump in to break it up.

And….The Winner is….WAIT….It’s A Draw!

Troy Brouwer: 6’3″, 213 lbs. 21 Career NHL Regular Season Fights.

Michael Chaput: 6’2″, 197 lbs. No Career NHL Regular Season Fights.

December 18th, 2014. 16:20 Into The Second Period. Caps Still Tied 2-2.

This was a really, really odd fight. Chaput went down after Brouwer lightly touched him. Now, I wasn’t there, but I assume Brouwer said something to Chaput. And if I had to guess, it was along the lines of Brouwer informing Chaput that his name sounds like the French word for “poop.”

Chaput jumped up real quick and just quickly decided that he wanted to mash Brouwer’s face. Brouwer was cool with it, and quickly threw his gloves down so he too could mash Chaput’s face. Chaput gets the first good one on an uppercut, but Brouwer quickly answers with a strong one of his own. Both try to go over the top on one another, but neither one can land the punch. Then, Brouwer does some bizarre jump back thing. I can’t tell if he got hit in the gut, or if he was just trying to avoid a punch. But, his little jump move ended the fight.

And…The Winner Is….WAIT…It’s A Draw!
