Welcome to America, Sergei Kostenko!

Sergei Kostenko, the Capitals’ final selection in the 2012 Draft (#203), stepped onto the ice at Kettler for the first time this morning.  Originally not expected at development camp, his attendance was further complicated by visa issues which have since been resolved.  The newcomer played with a junior team affiliated with the KHL team Metallurg Novokuznetsk.

With the addition of Kostenko to Group A, there are now seven countries represented in that cohort – Canada, Great Britain (Wales), the Netherlands*, Norway, Russia, Sweden, and USA.

*Nardo Nagtzaam of the Netherlands has been sidelined due to injury since the first scrimmage, but he still technically counts as a member of Group A.
