Fans Have No Doubt

img_1092Going into Game 5, down 3 games to 1 against the New York Rangers in the first round of the playoffs, one would think the Capitals were on the verge of winning the series based on how the Verizon Center fans were acting. Red Mohawks, face painting, costumes, and, of course, NOISE. There was so much red in the seats it looked like the USSR. The national anthem went “and the rocket’s RED glare” (instead of emphasizing O as they do at Orioles games… let’s hope that’s done with here), and the chant of “LET’S GO CAPS” continued minutes into the game. Then later, “Rangers suck!” and “Lundqvist! Lundqvist! Lundqvist!” When Matt Bradley scored on a shorthanded breakaway, pure and utter euphoria hit the air. And to think, this is only the first round. More photos of those wild and crazy fans after the jump.
