Giant Olaf Kolzig Bobblehead on Long Term IR
Giant Ovechkin and Backstrom Bobbleheads Unveiled
The giant Olaf Kolzig bobblehead at Capital One Arena has been damaged.
As the Capitals unveiled the new Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin bobbleheads, to go along with the Peter Bondra, Rod Langway and Mike Gartner ones, Kolzig has been conspicuously absent from the concourse lately since he was damaged a few games ago.
No word on who did it, but we suspect it was either the real life Ovechkin seeing him and instinctively taking a slapshot, or one of the many sharpshooters who Kolzig stonewalled throughout his career.
As for the new Ovi and Backstrom, they were thoroughly protected by a barrier, as shown below.
