Caps Terminate Contract of Brendan Leipsic
The Washington Capitals have terminated the contract of Brendan Leipsic after he made several inappropriate and misogynistic comments about the wives of ex-teammates and others.
When the comments surfaced, the Caps issued a statement through the media.
More on the Brendan Leipsic situation, per a #Caps spokesman: “We are aware of the unacceptable and offensive comments made by Brendan Leipsic in a private conversation on social media. We will handle this matter internally.”

Leipsic, 25, had 11 points in 61 games for the Caps this season. This was his fifth different team in five seasons. However, after the Caps acquired Ilya Kovalchuk had the trade deadline, Leipsic had been a healthy scratch.
Leipsic was set to become a restricted free agent at season’s end.
