The Caps made their final cuts Monday, sending forward Zach Sill and defenseman Aaron Ness to Hershey, pending wavers. That means Zach Sanford made the opening night roster. The Capitals will be carrying 13 forwards, 7 defenseman and 2 goalies.
My projected lines are as follows,
8-92-77; 65-19-77; 82 (Sanford)-20 (Lars Eller)-90; 26-83-43 with Brett Connolly (10) being rotated in.
Based on the preseason it seems as though Karl Alzner and Matt Niskanen will remain the Caps top defensive parring again while Dmitry Orlov will be with John Carlson. Brooks Orpik seems like he’ll be paired with Nate Schmidt, and Taylor Chorney rotating in.
