Farewell, Connor Carrick

(Caps Outsider)

Connor Carrick was traded late last night as part of the deal that sent Brooks Laich to Toronto in exchange for Daniel Winnik. Carrick, from Orland Park, Illinois, is a former 5th round pick in 2012. The 21 year old played a total of 37 games for the Caps, 34 being in the 2013-14 season and three this year. Carrick has totaled 6 points while playing with Washington, including one highlight-reel goal.

Carrick led Hershey in points on the back-end this year with 10 goals and 16 assists. Carrick was also selected to the AHL all star game. He boasted a 95.0 MPH slapshot in the skills competition.

I am happy for Carrick as he will get a much better shot to be a regular in the lineup for Toronto. Best of luck, you will be missed.
