Movember 2014 has been relatively uneventful so far. Sure, many Caps are ‘participating’ in that they’re growing mustaches, but the donations to ‘change the face of men’s health’ aren’t exactly pouring in yet.

The one notable exception is Caps ‘hard-nosed player’ (Barry Trotz quote) Liam O’Brien. Only 20, O’Brien is one of the few Caps youngins’ who is even able to grow a mustache, and what a fine looking one it is. After fighting Deryk Engelland on Tuesday, he did this:

So far, O’Brien leads all Caps players with $295 in donations. Next best? Caps writer Mike Vogel with $100. The next highest-grossing player after O’Brien is Nate Schmidt, with $50.

Meanwhile, Caps captain Alex Ovechkin, who was a member of Team Gillette last year, and IS growing a mustache this year, has only managed…
