Schultz, Langway Hangin’ in Laurel

Weeknights at The Gardens Ice House in Laurel, Maryland typically have plenty of drama in the adult league games, but rarely are they as interesting as Monday’s events. Sure, Peter Bondra frequently shows his face around the rink, and Craig Laughlin spends his summers there, but on Monday, the Capitals’ community outreach folks spent some quality time with players and fans. Defenseman Jeff Schultz, who turned 26 the other day, showed up for a couple of youth clinics.

Schultz takes questions from the kids.

Meanwhile, on another rink, Ambassador Rod Langway attended the Maryland Scholastic Hockey League championship game between Atholton and Huntingtown, which Atholton won, 6-2.

Langway said he will not be playing in the upcoming alumni game. Boo.

And of course, the lovely Red Rockers came to cheer.

That's Langway in the background focusing on the game.
The Red Rockers are not wearing red here.

No sign of Slapshot.
