Capitals’ David Steckel, of Westbend, Wisconsin, is 28. Despite being drafted 30th overall by Los Angeles in 2001, Steckel has played his entire career in Washington.
Also, defenseman Tyler Sloan is 29. Sloan, of Calgary, Alberta was undrafted and has played in the minor leagues, including Hershey, since 2000, until getting called up by the Capitals last season.
