In Ovechkin’s postgame comments, he was asked about the team scoring four or more goals in seven straight games (which coincides with his captaincy). His response? They do it for the Chicken Wings.
He’s referring of course to the promotion with Glory Days Grill. When the Capitals score 5 or more goals in a home game, all fans in attendance win 10 Free Wings. It’s happened two games in a row, and 9 times this season (including preseason). Hopefully Ovie and the Caps can make it three in a row with 5 or more against the Wings, for Wings, on Tuesday.
