Along with the regular favorites like the Teddy Bear Toss and and Hershey Park Night, the Hershey Bears announced their promotional schedule today for the 2017-18 regular season.

The Bears, celebrating their 80th season, open the year October 14 against the newly-minted Belleville Senators with a magnet schedule for the first 8,000 fans. Opening weekend continues the next night against Lehigh Valley, where the team will give away a commemorative car magnet to the first 6,000 fans.

The game against the Phantoms will also be the first of five Dollar Dog Nights, where hot dogs cost just $1 the whole night.

There will be five Hershey Park Pass Nights: October 29 (Pink In The Rink Night) against the Hartford Wolf Pack, November 15 against the Syracuse Crunch, December 13 against the Providence Bruins, January 10 against the Springfield Thunderbirds, and the Outdoor Classic game January 20 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. All fans will get the one-day admission pass, valid until July 31, 2018.

A few popular giveaways from seasons prior will return, such as Pint Glass Night (December 23, vs. Binghamton Devils), Knit Cap Night (January 14, vs. Lehigh Valley), Baseball Cap Night (Feburary 3, vs. Charlotte Checkers), and Golf Ball Night (March 25, Hartford).

Team captain Garrett Mitchell will have his own bobblehead, given away to the first 4,000 fans on January 24 as the Bears welcome the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

To celebrate their affiliation with the Washington Capitals, the Bears will host Washington Capitals Night on November 4 against the Toronto Marlies.

For December holidays, the Bears have a number of promotions leading up to the new year. Fans will get in the giving spirit on the third against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with the Teddy Bear Toss. Last year, fans threw a record 20,662 bears after Garrett Mitchell opened the scoring (no pressure). The Phantoms come back to town on the ninth for Ornament Night, also encompassed by the Toys For Tots Drive. The P-Bruins are in town on the sixteenth for Hall of Fame Night, an annual celebration of Hershey legends.

The Bears have home games on or around many holidays, which go along with holiday-inspired promotions. October 28 (Providence) is Trick-or-Treat Night for fans 12-years-old and under, November 22 (Springfield) is Turkey Shoot Night, February 11 (Rochester Americans) is Chocolate Covered February Night where all fans get candy when they exit, and March 17 (Springfield) is Rally Towel Night and a St. Patrick’s Day jersey auction after the game.

Bears players will take part in four more post-game promotions. November 11, American Flag and Hometown Heroes Night, will see special USA-themed jerseys auctioned following a game against Lehigh Valley. The next night against the Penguins, Bears players will do a 75-minute autograph session after the game.

Strong, the force will be for January 7’s game against Charlotte for Star Wars Night. The Bears will wear Star Wars jerseys to be auctioned after the game. April 14 and 15 – the final games of the year against Bridgeport Sound Tigers and WB/S – are Fan Appreciation Night and Jersey Off Our Back Night, respectively.

Other notable promotions include T-Shirt Night (March 3, vs. Utica Comets), Movember T-Shirt Night (November 26, vs. ) Pennsylvania Lottery Night (December 2, vs. Milwaukee Admirals), Ice Scraper Night (December 10, vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton), Ham Shoot Night (March 31, vs. Laval Rocket), and Papa John’s Pizza Night (February 10, vs. Hartford).
