Caps Set to Face Rangers

(John Carlson – Caps Outsider)

After beating the Florida Panthers 4-2 on Thursday, the Capitals look to win their fourth game in a row Saturday as they face the New York Rangers at Verizon Center.

The Rangers are playing their first of a back to back set so expect them to roll all four lines. For the Rangers, Dan Girardi will not play against the Caps, while Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start. The Rangers are 2-2-0,  and lost 2-1 to the Red Wings on Wednesday.

For the Caps, who did not practice Friday, expect the same lineup from the last two games. The Caps have scored first so far in every game. The defenseman still haven’t scored a goal, despite Matt Niskanen’s efforts Thursday. Keep an eye out for John Carlson to find the net soon, especially on the power play while over-covering Alex Ovechkin.

Speaking of Ovechkin, he is one game-winning goal away from tying Wayne Gretzky‘s career mark of 91.
