Stingrays 25th Anniversary Logo Revealed

As part of the celebration of 25 years in the Lowcountry, the South Carolina Stingrays commissioned fans to design their anniversary logo. After five finalists were selected from a field of over 80 submissions, the design of Brooks Freeman won the contest in a fan vote.

“Brooks’ logo is a tremendous representation of our brand,” team owner Jerry Zucker said. “We look forward to prominently displaying his logo throughout next season. We want to congratulate all of the finalists and thank all of the artists for their fantastic submissions and support of the contest.”

Freeman’s design features the current Stingrays’ logo with the crescent moon and the palmetto tree — a part of the state flag — flanking the giant “25.”

For winning the contest, Freeman will receive a customized anniversary jersey, tickets to see the Stingrays play in the special sweaters, and up to $500 to cover travel expenses. Freeman described today as “a dream come true.”

He continued, “I am so thankful to the staff of the Stingrays for picking my logo as a finalist and to all of the people who voted for my logo in the finals.”

With the logo chosen, Stingrays fans and designers can now use Freeman’s logo to design the 25th Anniversary jersey itself. That contest opened today and will close Sunday, September 25th.

“I hope other organizations will follow our lead with getting fans involved in the design process,” Zucker said.
