Hershey Bears Re-sign Ryan Bourque, Dustin Gazley

Today the Hershey Bears announced that Ryan Bourque and Dustin Gazley have been re-signed for the 2016-2017 season. Both of these players add depth to the Bears roster.

Bourque was acquired at the trade deadline from the Hartford Wolfpack and re-joined his brother Chris Bourque on the Bears. Before Ryan was traded to the Bears, he amassed 24 points (10 goals, 24 assists) with the Wolfpack. Once he joined the Bears he added another five points ( 1 goal, 4 assists) to his regular season total. During the Bears Calder Cup run, Bourque played in all 21 playoff games adding five more points to his season (2 goals, 3 assists).

(Hershey, Pa. – July 6, 2016) – The Hershey Bears announced today that the organization has re-signed forward, Ryan Bourque to an AHL contract for one year.

Bourque was traded to the Bears in February of last year for Chris Brown. Throughout the rest of the season, he played 19 games where he scored one goal and four assists for the Bears.

He started his AHL Career with the New York Rangers’ AHL affiliate Connecticut Whale/Hartford Wolf Pack in 2011-2012. Bourque played 324 games with Hartford and produced 122 points. He was then called up to the Rangers during the 2014-2015 season.

The 5’9, 178-pound Boxford, Massachusetts native, played two seasons of junior hockey with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) in 2009-2011. He also was a result of the United States National Team Development Program, from 2007-2009.

Bourque was originally selected by the Rangers in the third round (80th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Dustin Gazley will re-join the Bears for his fourth season with the club. In 61 regular season games, Gazley had 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) which ranked him 8th on the Bears roster. In his 16 games during the playoffs, he managed to earn 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists). Gazley’s speed and finesse type of play is a great asset to the Bears.

(Hershey, Pa. – July 6, 2016) – The Hershey Bears announced today that the organization has re-signed winger, Dustin Galzey.

This will be Gazley’s 4th season playing for the chocolate and white. He has been a great asset to the team with 175 games played where he scored 40 goals and captured 44 assists.

The 5’9, 161-pound Michigan State graduate, played for various East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) team prior to coming to Hershey. Gazley began his professional career with the (ECHL) Greenville Road Warriors in 2010-2011. He then worked his way to the Reading Royals in 2013-2014 which he gave 25 games before joining the Bears in the AHL.

Hershey is not only excited for Gazley to return to Hershey for his on-ice skills, but for his community involvement.
