Hat Trick and Another 50 for Ovechkin!
(via NHL PR)
Alex Ovechkin‘s 15th career regular season hat-trick Saturday against St. Louis also gave him his 50th of the season, which is the seventh time he’s hit that mark. His 523rd, 524th and 525th career goals moved him past Pat Verbeek and then Bryan Trottier for 33rd place on the all-time goals list. His 15th hat-trick is four behind the Caps team record of 19 by Peter Bondra.
He’s well ahead of Patrick Kane in the goal-scoring race this season and most certainly will win his fourth consecutive Rocket Richard trophy, and sixth overall.
