As part of Hockey is for Everyone month, the Caps sent forward Jay Beagle to Gardens Ice House to skate with the rink’s learn-to-play program. Beagle, who has been running a ball hockey camp for the last two years in Calgary during the offseason for kids, says he enjoys working with children.  Beagle also has a 10-month old son named Brandt, and is already teaching him how to stick handle.

“They love to play hockey and are out there for the love of the game,” Beagle said. “You just tell them to keep working hard and keep working on their skills, and it’s a lot of fun being out there.”
