Sometime Capital and current Hershey Bears defenseman Tyson Strachan has a side gig outside of hockey called Strachan Strays, a non-profit group that raises money to fight pet homelessness.
Strachan and his girlfriend, Kate Ankoviak, got the Bears involved in helping raise funds for a Hershey animal shelter. The Bears’ wives and girlfriends will be selling T-shirts and other items in support of this charity at the game on Saturday, Feb. 15th against theWilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
“Really want to thank the staff and all my teammates from @TheHersheyBears for making today awesome!” Strachan tweeted after the pups paid a visit to the Bears locker room.
