Awkward High Fives to Avoid

As mentioned earlier, I’ll be on hand at the Green Turtle to judge a High Five sweepstakes before the game Saturday against Detroit. As a judge, I feel it’s my duty to let you know about my standards in advance. A High Five can often times be awkward, and there are certain mistakes that I would like the competitors to avoid in order to earn the highest score possible :

The "Missed High Five"
The "Miscommunication High Five"

The "Generation Gap High Five"
The "Domestic Violence High Five"
The "Air Ball High Five"
The "David Puddy High Five"
The "Blind High Five"

So please remember, as you prepare for the event on Saturday, we don’t want to see anything from above. We’re looking for something a bit more like this :

The "Goal Celebration High Five"

Capital One Bank is promoting its new High Yield Checking account by highlighting the excitement of competitive sports with a pre-game “High Five” sweepstakes at this weekend’s Washington Capitals game, in addition to an online “High Five” photo sweepstakes. Both give fans the chance to enter and win “five times the tickets” (five tickets) to a DC-area professional or collegiate sports game in recognition of Capital One Bank’s new High Yield Checking account, which earns at least five times the national average interest on checking.

Capitals fans who come to The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille on October 22 before the game can give their creative “High Fives” in front of a panel of judges and enter for their chance to win five times the tickets to an upcoming Capitals game. The High Five event begins at 4:30 p.m. at The Greene Turtle’s Verizon Center location at 601 F Street, NW.
