Holtby Celebrates First NHL Shutout

Third string goaltender Braden Holtby, who is spending much of this season in Hershey, got his first career NHL shutout on Wednesday against the Edmonton Oilers, though he didn’t give up a goal after working two periods in relief on Monday against Tampa Bay.

The Caps are blessed with three really good goalies. And I'll admit that before the trading deadline I'd have traded Braden Holtby for a good center with SIZE in a heartbeat or a rock ribbed defenseman who actually knows how (and WHEN) to take the body and move the puck competently out of their own end. But I really like Braden and I hope they keep him. He seems to have fewer peaks and valleys with performance--or injuries--than his counterparts...
