Shutouts Suck
This season, including last night’s 3-0 debacle, the Capitals have been shut out six times. That means they’re on pace for 11. The high-scoring lineup that they fielded last season was only stonewalled once. On the flip side, the Caps have shut out their opposition three times so far this season, the same number as last season in just about half the time. Yet that hardly seems to be anything worth celebrating when the Caps can hardly score themselves. The Alan Maydens
I’m not sure how many people are both Iron Maiden fans and also Alan May fans, but I am one of them and this design, by Twitter friend @mkpanda78, makes me remember the good ole’ days when May was crazy like Eddie when he stepped out onto the ice. For more on Iron Maiden, see Gunaxin’s Tribute to Eddie, and for more on Alan May, watch these fight videos. Alan Mayden Shirts and Hoodies Alan Mayden Sticker Alan Mayden Kids Clothing

Happy Birthday, Ted Leonsis!
Ted Leonsis, aka Uncle Ted, is 54 today. If you haven’t seen it, check out Gunaxin’s Leonsis interview, and get his book, The Business of Happiness. As a gift to him this year, do NOT call him a billionaire. It’s number 15 on his 101 list. Number 90 is “Swim with Great White Sharks.” Ted, might wanna do that after all else is accomplished!
