AUTHOR: | IN: Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Capitals have traded Tomas Fleischmann to Colorado for Defenseman Scott Hannan, so we figured this would be a good time to get to know our new blue liner. The following video is from 2006 when he was with the San Jose Sharks, and we’ll follow it with a couple more assorted videos :

Blowin’ Up Penguins

AUTHOR: | IN: Video | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Capitals recently had a team bonding outing with the FBI, and have released a video on the site. Despite a disturbing embrace between Alex Semin and Mike Green, the entire video is pretty good, and worth a watch. The highlight though is certainly the destruction of a stuffed penguin which comes at the end : [HT] Puck Daddy

D.J. King Playing Wednesday?

AUTHOR: | IN: Fight | COMMENTS: None Yet

Photo courtesy of Yardbarker Bruce Boudreau said in his post-game press conference Sunday that team enforcer D.J. King will ‘probably’ play against his former team when the Caps travel to St. Louis on Wednesday. King was drafted by St. Louis in 2002 but spent a lot of time in the AHL before coming to Washington over the summer, but has seen limited ice time. This season, King has been a healthy scratch in all but six games, and hasn’t played since the Caps faced the Rangers in New York on Nov. 9. In that game, he skated only five shifts [...]

Second Horn Guy Blows at Verizon Center

AUTHOR: | IN: News | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Capitals fans heard something out of the ordinary during Sunday’s 3-2 victory against Carolina. It was a second fan with a horn, blowing the tune of ‘Let’s Go Caps’ from in or around section 420. Sam Wolk, the regular horn guy who sits about ten sections over, also continued with his responsibilities despite the disturbance. While Capitals Outsider won’t condemn anyone for showing team spirit, we must take exception to the lack of originality by this second blower. What next, another loud guy who steals Goat’s thunder? Having two horn guys is like having two Santa Clauses at a Christmas [...]

Milbury Compares Ovechkin to Ochocinco

AUTHOR: | IN: Video | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Mike Milbury just can’t resist commenting on Alex Ovechkin, and of course, comparing him to Sidney Crosby. This time it was in relation to the recent post-game incident in New Jersey. In the follow-up discussion, Milbury mentioned how Crosby trains all off-season and gets better, and all Ovechkin does is party apparently. He then went on to compare Crosby to Peyton Manning or Tom Brady, while Ovie is more like Chad Ochocinco. The comparison is obviously absurd. If anything Crosby is Manning; dorky, boring, but a smart traditional leader. While Ovie is more like Brady, with swagger, style, and bangs [...]

Knuble photo courtesy of Caps Snaps Mike Knuble returned to the lineup for Friday’s 6-0 win sporting a jaw shield, which gives us an excuse to show a famous cartoon character who he now sort of resembles. Read more about Knuble’s jaw at The Post, if you’re so inclined. Either that or compile a list of other characters that Knuble now resembles.
