As the intro video to game one stated, Nothing Else Matters :
Some may think that Washington is cocky, or has a sense of entitlement after earning the best record in the NHL, however I see it differently. There has been a culture change in Washington. The team, the coaches, the fans, the media, and the entire city expect the Capitals to win.
That doesn’t mean they don’t have to earn it, it means that anything less than a victory is a Failure. I’ve been going to Capitals games for a long time, and I don’t ever remember having this feeling before. Every time I show up at the arena, I expect a victory, because I know that we have the best team in the league.
I think this team IS capable of going 16-0 in the playoffs. After last nights disappointing result, the goal now must be 16-1. Expecting any less is loser talk. Dominate.
