NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — In Saturday’s 4-3 win over the Atlanta Gladiators, South Carolina Stingrays fans tossed 8,750 teddy bears onto the ice. Sure, it’s a far cry from the 34,798 thrown in Hershey last week, but remember that this is the ECHL, so that’s a big number for this league. It is a record for the Stingrays.
All teddy bears will be donated to Toys for Tots. Matt Pohlkamp scored the goal at 19:24 of the second period to cut the Stingrays 2-0 deficit in half.
