The Washington Capitals concluded their annual Prospect Development Camp on Saturday with a scrimmage that ended in a shootout, 3-2, for the red team. This weeklong development camp is designed to help the Capitals prospects improve their game and allow the Capitals to evaluate their progress. This is the 13th consecutive year that the camp is being held at MedStar Capitals Iceplex. Past development camps have been held in Odenton, Md., and Hershey, Pa.

Eric Florchuk, a center who was drafted in 2018, scored the first goal for team white in the first half after receiving a beautiful pass from Riley Sutter. In the second half, Connor McMichael, who was selected 25th overall in the 2019 NHL draft also scored. McMichael was ranked 11th overall among North American centers and 20th overall forwards by the NHL Central Scouting in the 2019 NHL Draft.
