Caps Launch ‘Tilt the Ice’ Virtual Reality Game

For Fan Appreciation Week, the Caps launched a new virtual reality game called ‘Tilt the Ice,’ where you hold your phone up to a coaster which turns you into a goalie being shot on.

From there, you tilt the coaster back and forth to stop the pucks as they come at you. Of course, this being ‘ice,’ it’s a but tougher than just moving the goalie, but adjusting to the slide.

To play, download the AppAR8 on your Apple or Android products, and get your hands on of the Tilt the Ice Bud Light coasters (there is a list of bars below).

I played it. I’m not very good but you’ll get the idea. The only issue I had was holding my phone in one hand and tilting the coaster around in the other, but I suppose there are ways around this for far more serious Tilt the Ice players.

It’s a fun thing and my guess is that kids will enjoy it as much as adults, but this being sponsored my a beer company, I’m not sure kids are the target audience. Though, definitely let your kids play.

The Caps want you to take screenshots of your high scores and tweet them to @Capitals and @BudLight with the #ALLCAPS hashtag, where you can win prizes if you’ve got a top score.

Check out more about this on the Caps site.
