Stingrays Week 15 Recap: Hello Facebook

The Stingrays went 2-1-0 last week, beating the Orlando Solar Bears and the Jacksonville Ice Men over the weekend after losing to the Norfolk Admirals on Tuesday.

Tuesday, the Stingrays opened up with a two-goal lead, with goals coming from Kelly Zajac and Tim McGauleyTravis Walsh and Joe Devin had assists on both goals. Norfolk would go on to score the next four goals, including three in a 1:08 span in the second period en route to a 5-3 win.

Friday, the game was broadcast on Facebook Live, and the Stingrays gave the viewers a show, winning 6-2 over Orlando. The Rays had six different scorers and had multi-point nights from Devin, Steven WhitneyNick Roberto who all had a goal and an assist. Walsh also had a multi-point night with picking up two assists.

Saturday the Stingrays beat the Ice Men 2-1 in the shootout. Marcus Perrier had the lone goal for the Rays while Whitney won it for the team in the shootout. Jeff Jakaitis picked up his 13th win of the season making 30 saves.

Week ahead: The Stingrays start a three-in-three, with all three being on the road, on Friday with against the Worcester Railers (7:05) before playing at the Manchester Monarchs for a Saturday (6:00) and Sunday (3:00) showdown.

Standings: The Stingrays now sit only four points behind the Florida Everblades for first place in the South Division, and they sit 10 points ahead of the Atlanta Gladiators, who they have six games in hand on.
