On a school day game at the Jacksonville Icemen, the South Carolina Stingrays got schooled in a 5-2 loss. The Rays goals came from Dylan Margonari and Steven Whitney. Assists were awarded to  Taylor Cammarata, Kelly Zajac and Frankie Simonelli. The Stingrays then went on to beat intrastate rival Greenville and then Atlanta in overtime to get four of a possible six points this week.

On Marvel Superhero Night where the Swamp Rabbits wore Thor jerseys and the Rays wore Hulk, the Rays needed some superheroing of their own. After Cammarata lead a third period comeback scoring his first two two professional goals, the game went into overtime Whitney gave the Stingrays the win on an overtime power play strike to become the true hero of the night.

In Atlanta, the Stingrays and Gladiators were tied after regulation on goals from Andrew Cherniwchan and Patrick Gaul before, Whitney was once again the hero. This time, his goal came on a penalty shot in the extra frame. Zajac had two assists in the overtime thriller.

The two wins put the Stingrays tied in second in the South Division with Greenville, despite playing two fewer games. Both teams are five points behind the Florida Everblades who the Stingrays also have two games in hand on.

In the upcoming week, the Stingrays will be at Atlanta on Thanksgiving night before traveling to Orlando to take on the Solar Bears on Saturday and Sunday.

The Stingrays leaders are few individuals showing it really has been a team effort so far this season. Cherniwchan, Nick Johnson and Whitney lead the team with six goals. Defenseman Robbie Baillargeon  and Zajac lead the team with 8 assists. Whitney has five assists and he leads the team with 11 points. Goalie Jeff Jakaitis may lead the team with five wins, but Parker Milner leads the team with a save percentage of .939 and a goals against average of 1.71.
