This Time, Mitchell Earns the Honor

This time, Braden Holtby wasn’t in net to outshine Garrett Mitchell on Thursday, as the Caps prospect had a goal and an assist in Hershey’s 4-1 victory against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. That, plus his game-winner in Wednesday’s match, was a much needed boost for Mitchell, who increased his point total to 12 in 31 games this year, including four of his seven goals against the Penguins.

Meanwhile, the Bears continued to to struggle in the shot department, putting up only 19 to the Penguins’ 27. Dany Sabourin, however, stopped all but one of those while on the penalty kill.

For the second night in a row, Mitchell scored in the first four minutes, this time at 3:32. Mitchell then assisted on Steve Oleksy‘s second-period goal, his first for the Bears. Mathieu Beaudoin and Boyd Kane also tallied for Hershey.
