Theodore Gets Leonsis Hug of the Game

leonsis_theodore_hugGetting the first star of the game? Check. Getting the hard hat? Check. But getting a hug from the owner – before you shower and while he’s wearing a suit – isn’t something that happens every game. Goaltender Jose Theodore got just that after he made 44 saves, and even had an assist, in the Caps’ 3-2 victory against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. “That was unbelievable!” Leonsis told Theodore.

Let’s just assume that because it doesn’t happen after every win, a hug from Ted Leonsis is the ultimate trophy a player can earn after leading the team to victory in a regular season game.

Lindsay Applebaum of The Post got the video while I only got the absolute end. I’m such a slacker.
