This November, Capitals Outsider is joining the global fight against Men’s Cancers known as Movember. For the un-initiated, it means that we’ll be growing mustaches (mo) and raising money and awareness of Men’s Cancers. Here is the official word from Movember.com, summarized in this video :

Before he became the very knowledgeable CSN Washington post-game commentator, Alan May was a ultimate fighter hockey player in Washington from 1989-1994, where he amassed an astounding 1189 penalty minutes in only 345 regular-season games. Capitals fans may have been a bit slow to filter into Verizon Center for Saturday’s game against Atlanta as they stayed outside to enjoy the family-friendly Capitals Street Festival sponsored by Capital One. Kids and adults alike participated in activities such as face painting, dancing with the Red Rockers, and testing their slap shot speed and shot accuracy. I find that the locker-room can be a sullen place after a loss like the Capitals suffered tonight. So rather then battle beat reporters looking for some quotes to fill their story, I decided instead to stick around the ice in anticipation of post-game festivities. I caught wind via Twitter that Boston University and UMass Amherst would be battling in an epic Broomball match after the Capitals vs. Bruins game, and I wasn’t about to miss that.
