Travis Boyd Scores His First Career NHL Goal

(Caps Outsider)

Early in the game, youngster Travis Boyd passed a puck which went off the skate of Dmitrij Jaskin and into the net (it was his first goal for the Caps). Though Jaskin got credit for the goal, that sort of redirect is more of a lucky bounce, as it would have been Boyd’s goal had the puck bounced in the same way off of a defenseman.

In the third period, on a pass from one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history, Alex Ovechkin, Boyd finally netted his first career goal, as the Caps beat the Blue Jackets, 4-0.

Congratulations, Travis Boyd, and let’s hope that’s the first of many for the Washington Capitals.
