The South Carolina Stingrays have already locked up home ice in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs but they are still looking to finish atop the South Division. With a 4-0-0 week, the Stingrays now sit five points back of the Florida Everblades with seven to play.

Monday night, Steven Whitney did it all for the Stingrays in their 3-2 shootout win over the Atlanta Gladiators. Whitney scored, had an assist on Joey Leach‘s third period goal that tied the game, and then scored the game winning shootout goal. The win was Parker Milner‘s 22nd and he made 24 saves in the effort.

Wednesday, the Stingrays beat the Orlando Solar Bears 3-2 in yet another shootout. The win was the Stingrays 1000th franchise win. Whitney was again the hero in the shootout.  The Rays were down 2-0 in the third period before Paul Geiger and Jake Kamrass scored back-to-back goals in 12 seconds to tie the game. Milner made 24 saves in the win.

Friday again featured a shootout win for the Rays beating Orlando 2-1. Patrick Megannety scored the lone goal for the Rays while shorthanded. Milner picked up his third straight win. Kelly Zajac was the shootout hero.

Sunday did not go into a shootout as the Stingrays won 4-1 behind three power play goals. Jonathan Charbonneau scored the first two goals of his professional career for the Rays with the other two coming from J.C. Brassard and Geiger.
