Despite taking only 12 shots on goal, the Capitals won 3-0 on Friday against the Devils. Wins are nice but fight-filled 7-2 games are so much more fun. Click on the box score for a larger version.

For those who couldn’t attend the Russian Machine Never Breaks party last weekend, never fear. Capitals Outsider was there covering it. Because instead of throwing a cool party, we just show up and film things. While Ian, Neil and the guys are getting the party photos sorted, here’s a glimpse at some of the festivities in Arlington last weekend.

Tonight, our favorite YouTube star, GoRemy premiered his new rap, “I’m a Caps Fan” on Comcast SportsNet. Apparently he recorded the new song exclusively for CSN, so he drops plenty of CSN references. Some popular Capitals blogs make appearances too, take a look :

Washington defender Tyler Sloan, #89, of Calgary, turns 30 today. Sloan was undrafted and has played in the minor leagues, including Hershey, since 2000. Also happy birthday to former Cap and Crosby-killer David Steckel, who is 29 today. Steckel, of Westbend, Wisconsin, was drafted 30th overall by Los Angeles in 2001, but played his entire career in Washington up until getting traded to New Jersey for Jason Arnott.

At the Russian Machine Never Breaks party on Saturday night, Sam Wolk, aka The Horn Guy, involved himself in a game of floor hockey, using his horn as a stick. But did the horn hold up? What a day. The Caps wore green warm-up jerseys, fans took shots at NBC with Joe B. support signs, DJ Pauly D chilled in the Caps’ locker room, and the Caps won, 4-3 in overtime against the defending Stanley Cup champs, Chicago. Click on the box score for a larger version.
