What could make seeing the Caps play the Vegas Golden Knights at Capital One Arena any better?  Puppies! On Monday, Jan. 24, the Caps will host the Knights and Caps Canines Night Pawsented by PEDIGREE Foundation. The foundation, an independent non-profit organization working to help end pet homelessness, was established in 2008 by Mars Petcare, maker of PEDIGREE dog food.  The Capitals and PEDIGREE Foundation have partnered with Wolftrap Animal Rescue to promote adoption awareness and have adoptable dogs at the arena. The adoptable dogs will be part of the game presentation show and intermission, during which fans will also learn more information on how to give the dogs a forever home

To kick-off the evening, a pre-game Caps Countdown interview will feature a PEDIGREE Foundation representative and information on PEDIGREE Foundation will be available at the Caps Canines Subscription table on the concourse. Caps Canines is the official dog club of the Washington Capitals. Throughout the game, social and in-game content will highlight Capitals players and their dogs, PEDIGREE Foundation, and Capitals and America’s VetDogs service dog in training, Biscuit. The Caps will also be sending their dog influencers a party gift to tune-in to NBC Sports Washington so folks can participate at home.  A ‘Caps & Canines’ t-shirt will be available for purchase at the Team Store at Capital One Arena, with proceeds benefiting PEDIGREE Foundation. The ‘Caps & Canines” T-shirt will be available for purchase throughout the remainder of the season at the Team Store. Fans can also purchase the exclusive shirt and other PEDIGREE Foundation gear at DogsRuleStore.com to help dogs in need.

Special guests from America’s VetDogs puppy raisers, veterans and their dogs will also watch the game from a suite and be recognized as part of the Hero’s Welcome during the pre-game ceremony. Additionally, all fans who purchase tickets at washcaps.com/specialgroups will receive special apparel for both the dog owner and dog.

According to PEDIGREE Foundation, nearly 3.1 million dogs end up in shelters and rescues every year and too many never find a home. For more information on how you can help, please visit PedigreeFoundation.org or www.wtarescue.com.
